  • TJB Verizon iPhone iOS vs Android face off
    Written by TJB
Verizon iPhone iOS vs Android face off A series of articles have looked at how Apple's iPhone 4 will stack up against other smartphones, principally those running Google's Android OS. As the largest Android carrier in the US, Verizon's new ability to sell Apple's iPhone 4 threatens to shake up the smartphone business and dramatically change the options subscribers have available to them.

Verizon's phone comparison website, built in Adobe Flash, doesn't make it very easy to see how its dozens of phones compare in features and price. While the company's offers differ slightly among regions of the country, this general overview shows what options shoppers have among the carrier's offerings.

  • JaY iPad 2 confirmed to come on april 2nd
    Written by JaY
iPad 2 confirmed to come on april 2nd There is an update about the exact release date for the iPad 2. According to Redmond Pie, a German blog MacNotes.de, is claiming that the iPad 2 will be launched on either April 2nd or 9th.

Other than that aticle, there isn’t any sort of hard evidence to support the fact that the iPad 2 will launch on either of the given dates. Still, MacNotes.de claim to have good sources supporting this rumor. And just like how the current iPad was launched, the iPad 2 will remain exclusive to the US when it is launched and will hit international markets in July. This time it probably wont be sold out we assume so don't run for the release date. The report also confirms that the iPad 2 will have dual cameras, one at the front for FaceTime calls and one at the back for taking pictures and recording video.

Although the report says that the iPad 2 will also have a Retina Display but we are somewhat skeptical about it, since a Retina Display on the iPad 2 will have higher pixel density which would in turn require more processing power to handle and of course will be more expensive to manufacture. Let’s just take this report as a grain of salt and leave it up to Apple to unveil the iPad 2 themselves.

Apple has done a good job with iPad 1 and is already working on giving you the newer update possibly in shorter time that we have initially thought. Kevin Rose, the founder of the social news site Digg, claims the announcement and subsequent release of the iPad 2 is weeks away at most, so you'll want to hold off purchasing a new iPad because a better one is just out of reach.

  • Matt Herron Introducing Sony "Reality Display" and the Xperia Arc
    Written by Matt Herron
Introducing Sony What new smartphone has a 4.2" multi-touch display, is powered by a 1GHz Snapdragon processor, and runs the new Android 2.3 Gingebread OS? None other than the Xperia Arc, which Sony Ericsson unveiled at CES 2011 recently.

Besides the slim body, which measures just 8.7mm at it's trim waistline, and "Arc's" to a slighter thickness at each end, Sony's new toy also features an 8.1 megapixel camera with LED flash and 720p HD video capability.

There are a slew of other features (8GB SD card included, HDMI output jack, 512 MB of internal memory, stereo Bluetooth with A2DP; need we proceed?), but the most notable is certainly the so-called Reality Display powered by the Mobile BRAVIA Engine.

Motorola Xoom tablet, first look Motorola proudly demoed its new 10.1-inch Xoom tablet at its CES 2011 press conference this afternoon and we were there to take some snaps. The Android 3.0 you see here isn't quite finished – the shots of Honeycomb running on the tablet are just images. While the tablet has an early 2011 release date in the US, it's not clear when or if it will come to the UK. However, the tablet has been developed in conjunction with Verizon – which Vodafone owns a significant portion of.

    Written by igz admin
Android 3.0 debut at CES 2011 Google took CES by storm today, showing off the tablet-optimized Android 3.0 (Honeycomb) operating system.
The video makes it clear that 3.0 is made "entirely for tablet," which leaves some questions as to what will happen with the vast Android smartphone line when 3.0 becomes inevitable.

As part of the update, Google has added a 3D task switcher, a large virtual keyboard, more powerful (and live) widgets, a portal to Google Books, tabbed browsing, the updated YouTube, 3D Google Maps (version 5.0 on smartphones) and other more subtle features.

Apple gets sued over iOS ipp privacy issues Apple and four of its iOS application developer partners are the targets of a lawsuit alleging violations of computer fraud and privacy laws by enabling advertising networks to access consumers' personal data via iPhone and iPad apps. The suit, filed in U.S. federal court in San Jose, California by the law firm KamberLaw on behalf of Los Angeles county resident Jonathan Lalo, contends that Apple allows ad networks to track consumers' activity based on a unique identification number, and claims apps sold related personal information to ad networks including "users' location, age, gender, income, ethnicity, sexual orientation and political views."
